Blackbird Projects

The Blackbird Projects is a violin and clarinet duo consisting of Sophie Bird and Nanna Wendelboe, both full-time musicians in the Helsingborg Symphony Orchestra. Their inspiration came from wanting to bring classical music out of the traditional concert hall and into bars, restaurants, hotels, and other casual social spaces. The Blackbird Projects would like to show that vibrant classical music can live and be appreciated in any setting, unencumbered by cultural norms or etiquette. 

The duo’s “pop-up concert” style consists of a wide variety of arrangements pulled from the folk and classical genres. They also provide musical background/entertainment for wedding ceremonies and receptions and other festive occasions.

Generally, the group plays two 30-minute acoustic sets, however, both the duration and the fee are negotiable. They would be happy to have a more detailed discussion with you about what would work best. Here is a link to a demo video and a few video clips from past performances to give you an idea.
